Short film Wildlife Crossing! Triumphs at Animayo Festival

15 June 2015 No Comments

The short WILDLIFE CROSSING! has reached audiences and won recognition from professionals (the highly prestigious magazine 3D WORLD featured the film on the cover of its summer issue, which was dedicated to character animation, and covered it over give pages in its main article). This has genuinely surprised us all, because it has gained the attention of a far greater number of viewers than we ever expected. Indeed, the first day it was posted on vimeo.com it was selected as one of the best films on the site and received a STAFF PICK stamp, which is highly valued in today’s age of internet distribution. It has been viewed 132,000 times on Vimeo alone. It also came to the attention of the US cable television channel QYOU, which broadcasts to the whole world. Placing the film in distribution on the internet station meant it reached an audience numbering hundreds of thousands.

The film has been selected for more than 30 festivals. During May we received the wonderful news that it had won first prize in the best comedy for children category at the Animayo festival on the Canary Islands where, by coincidence, Czech animation presented a programme dedicated to Czech productions, organised by the Czech Centre in Spain. Czech guests – namely Michaela Pavlátova, Stanislav Škoda and Alex Dowis – sat on the jury.

We are grateful for these successes and the interest of both industry people and the general public. The greatest gratitude goes to the Cinematography Fund, which contributed to the film financially.
