We are active in the drafting of QUALIFICATION STANDARDS FOR ANIMATION JOBS

Since 2013 we have been actively involved in the creation of professional qualification standards within the National Qualifications Framework. We view the need to improve the quality of animation in the Czech Republic as a limiting factor when it comes to the competitiveness of Czech animation.

It is gratifying that we are in agreement with other actors and professionals also interested in improving conditions in the animation field. Many other representatives of employees and professionals (artists) working in animation, as well as educational institutions, are involved in the preparation of qualification standards in the roles of both members of individual working groups and opponents. In this way, the necessary consensus in the setting of requirements regarding the expertise of animation professionals is being arrived at.

Animation and gaming studios and producers will have access to clear parametres for verifying the quality of staff hired for projects. Individuals who work in animation and have not undergone formal education in the branch will be able to substantiate their expertise with a certificate after successfully passing an authorised test. Thanks to the qualification standards, educational institutions will be able to access employers’ perspectives on the qualification requirements and modify their programmes to ensure they correspond more to the demands of the labour market. Qualification standards are not a goal but an instrument to boost the competitiveness of the entire field, with an emphasis on the quality of services provided by individual actors, such as schools, self-employed persons, animation studios and production firms.

• Production of digital puppets
• Animation designer
